World Class floor plan Haig & Co Salon delivers top-notch service in a luxurious space to fashion-forward clients from Philadelphia and beyond. Situated in the affluent Main Line area neighboring Philadelphia, Haig & Co Salon is the epitome of elegance. Originally opened in 1987 by Haig Kjararjian, the 3,800-square-foot salon underwent a complete update last year overseen by Haig & Co Creative Director Alan Gold, who incorporated luxurious elements like Murano glass, onyx walls, dark wood floors and gold leafing into the design and utilized Olymp furniture from Germany throughout. Central to the space is the 26-chair styling floor, where the expertly trained staff provides a full range of hair services. “The maple cutting stations are designed after a ziggurat to create privacy for clients with minimal wasted space and are lit with over 3000 candlepower for true color resolution,” Gold says. The full-service salon also features four manicure and two pedicure stations, three facial and waxing rooms and one “wet” treatment room with a shower. In the well-stocked retail area, L’Oréal Professionnel, Milbon, Phyto, Kevin.Murphy and Julien Farel products are available for purchase, along with select skincare items. “There are many other exciting architectural details as well, including a circular staircase hidden inside a gold-leaf tower that leads to an office loft designed to keep the business and brains of the salon together,” Gold says. “The front desk and loft are inspired by a ship’s lookout tower—a control center in a large open floor plan that oversees all operations.” With an elite clientele visiting the salon from all over the tri-state area, as well as from the two major television network stations located in adjacent buildings, Gold says delivering a world-class experience is critical to the success of the business. “Our mission is to provide technical excellence and fashionable aesthetics and to keep our clients looking fashion-forward no matter what their tastes are,” he says. “My job is to reach out to Paris, New York City, Los Angeles and other trend-setting areas in the fashion community to learn about the latest styles, test new techniques and products, meet designers and bring back with me the best of the industry. I ensure that Haig & Co is always one step ahead, creating the trends of the Main Line, not following them.” ✂ —Lotus Abrams from top: Haig & Co’s design boasts luxurious materials like gold leafing, murano glass and onyx; the styling floor is laid out in a staggered pattern that creates privacy while making efficient use of the space.
