Glamorous screen icons and the catwalks served as the inspiration for the latest body of work fromthe Brooks + Brooks Art Team, who hail from London. Dubbed Retro and seen exclusively on these pages, the collection is punctuated by beautiful, voluminous styles enhanced with on-trend color. “Last winter we saw antique rose hues take off in a big way,” says Jamie Brooks, who, along with his wife, Sally, has nabbed the London Hairdresser of the Year title three times at the British Hairdressing Awards. “This season the trend has morphed into very clean blondes— the hair even has a minky color to it with powder pastel flashes,” says Sally, the Team’s artistic director. To get the looks just right, the Brooks + Brooks Art Teamrelied on their signature technique, which involves placing slices of pastel colors that complement the models’ skin tones underneath and around the face. “The styles offer a new take on elegance, seamlessly blending edginess with wearabilty,” Sally says.
